Behind the scenes of Stop The Boats

Here are a few images from the making of Stop The Boats, our independent short film shot across Greater Manchester this summer.

The story follows a parent overwhelmed by grief and anger who arrives at a mosque seeking revenge. A conversation with the imam begins to challenge the misinformation that brought them there. Through this encounter, the film explores grief, radicalisation and the possibility of human connection.

Written and directed by Aneel Ahmad and produced by Danny Lomax, the film was brought to life by a talented cast and crew. We’re looking forward to sharing it at a private screening at HOME Manchester in November 2026, ahead of its planned festival journey in 2027.

For now, these images offer a glimpse of the people and work behind the film.
